My name is Monica Uphold-Cross, and I grew up in Yucaipa on a little farm filled with animals and wide-open space. Some of my earliest memories are of caring for dogs, farm animals, and even racehorses that eventually became part of our family. Life on the farm taught me responsibility, compassion, and a deep love for animals that continues to this day. In my free time, you can still find me riding horses and enjoying the peace and connection they bring.
Education has always been close to my heart. I went to school to become a teacher, and for the past 20 years, I have had the privilege of working with children in many different roles. Throughout my career, I’ve worn many hats, growing not only as an educator but also as a leader and mentor. In addition to teaching, I serve as a school counselor, supporting students academically, socially, and emotionally. I truly love working with kids and feel grateful to make a difference in their lives each day.
I am also a proud mother of three beautiful children, ranging from preteens to teens who are now driving. Watching them grow into independent, capable young people has been one of my greatest joys. They stay busy participating in a variety of fun activities, and I love being involved and cheering them on every step of the way.
Our family moved to Beaumont so we could plant roots and be a permanent part of this growing community. We are excited to build lasting relationships here and contribute in meaningful ways. My life has always centered around family, education, and community—and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
